This responsibility includes the development, communication, and execution of strategies to ensure realization of sourcing and procurement related actions to achieve the business objectives for the assigned O&M sites/contracts.The Sourcing Specialist/Buyer will work in close coordination with O&M leadership of the assigned O&M sites/contracts as well as the Sourcing leadership to effectively accomplish the role obligations.Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with source commodity teams by translating the business requirements (SOWs) as input to the commodity strategy
  • Lead the execution of the O&M sourcing strategy for the assigned sites; deliver a competitive advantage by driving the strategic supplier initiatives, selection, development, and consolidation to ensure optimal business performance.
  • Support sourcing specific ERP (Maximo, Alpha, Charlie?as applicable) and tool data entry, Review and improve processes. Work on special initiatives using Lean/Kaizen methodology and lead system implementation
  • Deployment of supply chain optimization initiatives in alignment with Commodity and Initiatives teams strategies (e.g. localization, BCC).
  • Manage the weekly operating rhythms and KPI?s reviews with the leadership
  • Regular collaboration with SQE teams to ensure quality, delivery and performance needs are met and improvement strategies are implemented.
  • Execute across the purchase base, with full accountability for meeting deflation (savings), usage, cash and preferred supplier targets.
  • Own the day-to-day execution of the local procurement process and manage the purchase orders until closed.
  • Understand and ensure business specific regulatory requirements, global ops compliance, and quality, delivery and cost expectations are met.
  • Manage the operational relationship with suppliers, organize EHS seminars and bootcamps as a refresher to GE standards and procedures.
  • Work Cross-functionally with business teams to effectively implement business solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor?s Degree in Science/Business/Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Significant work experience in sourcing/supply chain
  • Excellent communication(both verbal and written) skills when managing medium to large teams and engaging with senior management or external third parties.
  • Ability to travel regularly on-site
  • Fluency in English
Desired Characteristics
  • Prior experience in power generation or similar industry is a plus
  • Prior experience in executing complex Power/Energy projects with demonstrated involvement with Project Management team / deliverables.
  • Experience of Health and Safety execution/implementation in challenging project environments.
  • ?Technically competent with an ability to grasp and communicate complex issues
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
