Job Description

SummaryResponsible for all statutory and regulatory filings from preparation of financials statements under IFRS or local GAAP till completion of audit, statutory financial statements and tax filings.Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible to ensure all statutory and regulatory filings including statutory financial statements, tax filings and any other regulatory filings are completed timely, efficiently and in compliance with the country statutory and regulatory requirements for entities in Qatar and United Arab Emirates.
  • Conducts and coordinate all activities from planning of audit timeline, signing of engagement letter, preparation of statutory financial statement till the completion of audit, statutory financial statements and tax filings.
  • Identification of US GAAP to Statutory differences, adjustment analysis & decision making on proper accounting treatment.
  • Works self-sufficiently to resolve all audit queries without any assistance or after consultation with extended team members or people leader if needed.
  • Drive continuous improvements in all aspects of the Statutory financial reporting operational processes, with a focus on improvement in execution and optimization
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners to receive inputs, seek review and approval of outputs and maintain updates of status and progress.
  • Support People Leader to resolve daily operational issues
  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined policy/parameters.
  • Should have good interpersonal skills.
Required Academic Qualifications & Characteristics
  • Qualified/Part-Qualified Financial Accountant (ACA/ACMA/ACCA/CA-Finalist/CIA);
  • Articles completed from any of the Big four is a must;
  • Minimum 5 years post articleship industry experience
  • Written and verbal fluency in English
Desired Characteristics
  • Understanding of key Accounting standards (IFRS and US GAAP)
  • Expert in Excel
  • Strong understanding of the composition of financial statements (Cash Flow, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) and key financial metrics
  • Ability to learn/ understand Standard & Processes quickly and adhere to them accurately
  • Ability to deal with complex accounting questions
  • Flexible approach with a strong team spirit
  • Effective interpersonal & communication skills and highly professional style
  • Comfortable delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics
  • Compliance & controllership mindset
  • Numerate with a good eye for detail
  • Proficient IT skills
  • First-hand closing experience with Oracle, SAP or another ERP is an advantage.
