Job Description

Job SummaryResponsible for the preparation of rolling mill stand cassettes for Intermediate and Finishing Stands.Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance to ISO 9001, ISO-14001 & OSHAS 18001 requirements by reviewing and updating the departments procedures and documents.
  • Ensures compliance with safe working practice on the shop floor and executing all industrial safety rules according to company rules so that no damage occurs to man and machines.
  • Ensures compliance with all company regulations.
  • Follows instructions of Supervisor and carry out work as per his directives.
  • Ensures that all cassettes supplied to Production are made as per the tool change protocol.
  • Ensures that all spare cassettes are available in the mill to avoid production downtime.
  • Inspect lubrication points and surfaces, coolants and hydraulics oil levels and replenish supply as schedule/needed.
  • Ensure that all cassettes are prepared according to the Rolling Program.
  • Ensures the proper use of calibrated tools, proper hand tools.
  • Ensures that all jobs performed are recorded and filed.
  • Carry out general safety and house-keeping.
  • Inspection of roll neck if worn out and take corrective measures. Records must be maintained in this regard.
  • Carries out the inspection of bearings, checking of gears, guide saddle and hose condition.
  • Setting of guide saddle with the help of setting jigs optics.
  • Performs any other job as defined by the Supervisor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONEducationTechnical SchoolingSkillsBasic Knowledge in using measuring instruments.Able to perform basic scientific calculationsExperienceMinimum of 5 years in the post of rolling mill stand fitter.
