Job Description

The Senior Accountant position in the construction and building industry in Kuwait is a pivotal role that requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in financial management and accounting practices. This role is designed for individuals who have a strong understanding of accounting principles and are capable of managing complex financial transactions. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the overall financial health of the organization.Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and records in accordance with accounting standards.
  2. Oversee the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with the company?s financial objectives.
  3. Conduct regular audits of financial processes and transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls.
  4. Collaborate with project managers to analyze project costs and profitability, providing insights for decision-making.
  5. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation of transactions.
  6. Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  7. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management for strategic planning.
  8. Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering professional development.
  9. Implement and improve accounting systems and processes for greater efficiency.
  10. Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance.
Preferred Candidate:
  1. Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role in the construction industry.
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  3. Experienced in SAP Business 1.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
  5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to work.
  8. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.
  9. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
  10. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
  11. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends.
