Security CoordinatorAmerican International University - Kuwait CityClassification: Institutional SupportReports to: Director of SecurityJob Purpose:Under the direct supervision of the Head of Security, the University Security Coordinator has direct responsibility for managing the day-to-day security operations of the campus, and maintaining communications with all concerned parties on and off campus to uphold a safe and secured work place for students, guests, and University personnel.Duties:

1. Serve as a supporting security staff overseeing the daily and long-term safety and security practices, as structured by the Head of Security
2. Maintain student safety on campus, upholding a safe community in accordance with the student code of conduct
3. Organize and implement security measures and systems and procedures to promote structure and increased safety within the campus assist in the development and updating of security policy and procedures guides and manuals
4. Assist with supervision for entering and exiting of all guests, vendors, students, and employees, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day flow of communication regarding security related concerns
5. Oversee parking lot and vehicle safety on campus
6. Draft, edit, write and send communications as appropriate in coordination with supervisor assist with preparing reports and presentations on overall security status of campus to CEO and management.
7. Assist in the hiring, training, and supervision of all campus security personnel
8. Provide support for special projects and assume responsibility for the development, administration, and promotion of these, as needed by the department
9. Other duties as assigned by the Head of Security

1. Must possess skills to be able to explain and demonstrate the essential functions of the position
2. Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly and effectively at all levels within the University in English must possess effective presentation skills
3. Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience working with security ideally in an higher education/university campus setting but other industries accepted
4. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, professional working environment, working under pressure and maintaining composure must be task oriented, a self-starter, and capable of working independently
5. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive information with sound judgment, tact, and discretion
6. Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy
7. Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines
8. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of standard software applications
9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of professionals and constituents
10. Ability to work evening and weekends as required

1. Bachelors degree -preferred
2. Minimum of three years experience in a security or military related role - desired
3. Demonstrated experiences using computer skills proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel
