Job Description

Responsible for monitoring and controlling the day-to-day process related activities of the Steel making production. Assist production employees and other resources to ensure that targets are met. Responsible for Excellence and Process Efficiency of the Steel Melt-shop operations.Responsibilities:

  • Daily monitoring of melt shop parameters and taking corrective and preventive actions in case of deviations. Ensuring compliance to ISO9001 and 14001 & OHSAS 18001.
  • Coordination with Raw material procurement, planning, production and logistics for smooth operation of melt shop.
  • Meeting the product Quality requirements through Process Control.lead development and deployment of advanced techniques and methods and administer trials for a new product/equipment, for new process parameter, or for new practices. Control the changes in the Standard documents.
  • Accountable for control/Update of procedures & work instructions related to EAF/LF & CASTER process.
  • Accountable for the performance improvements related to manufacturing operations, including support functions.
  • Optimizing production cost while ensuring Safety, Quality, KPI and Targets are met. Maintain KPI figures on regular basis and present to management any variations and corrective actions.
  • To review all process deviations/incidents/near-misses and conduct Incident investigation to arrive at root-cause and follow up the recommendations.
  • Assess process activities to optimize productivity and eliminate risk/accidents.
  • Plan training & technical development for the production crew. Desired Candidate Profile: A. Education: University Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent Engineering B. Experience: Minimum 10 years in steelmaking production of more than 100t capacity EAF & LF with high level of automation and deep technical understanding in fully automated billet caster.
