Job Description

OverviewOverviewUnder the direction of the of Director of Supply Chain, this position will be a working manager who will be in charge of all Regional Commodity Agreements in the CENTCOM region. Materials Manager will have ownership for specific regional agreements and will manage all commercial negotiations with suppliers for the given materials. Materials Manager will lead teams to develop the supply chain and sourcing strategies for each commodity and will be responsible or execution of these strategies, including effective assessment and evaluation of potential new suppliers, supplier selection, contract and cost negotiations as well as ongoing supplier management.Capable of working independently in a high paced, demanding environment. Must be willing to adjust working hours to accommodate the various time zones. Must be willing and able to travel internationally to remote and/or austere locations for periods of 1-5 months, with limited advance notice.Individual is considered an expert in Procurement and subcontract management, has as solid track record maintaining compliance with company policy and FAR/DFARS. Comfortable with frequently adjusting priorities to include new taskings with little to no advance notice. Must have experience working in the CENTCOM region or a desire to self-educate on the region and conducting business in the different countries. Experience working with foreign subcontractors who are not used to working under a US Government prime contract and the patience and ability to coach them through the process.Responsibilities

  • Develop commodity strategies for assigned commodities (competitive landscape, SWOT, pricing trends, technology roadmap, supplier risk analysis, cost analysis,sourcing models, etc.)
  • Develop/forecast cost savings plan for given commodities & suppliers; Execute plan & drive quarterly & annual cost savings to meet/exceed plan
  • Perform all commercial supplier negotiations, including competitive price reviews, creating or updating contracts (MSA?s, BPA?s,)
  • Establish and foster positive, strategic working level and executive relationships with key commodity suppliers
  • Demonstrate leadership and vision in determining and driving strategy decisions within team and cross-functionally.
  • Contributes to the competitiveness and profitability of programs by developing regional commodity strategies through the best overall total cost solution in the region
QualificationsEducation / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. BS/BA Degree preferred.Experience: Must have 15+ years of professional experience relating to Supply Chain, Subcontracting, Purchasing & Contract management. Must have working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), contract law, purchasing policies and procedures, basic software worksheet technologies, and the ability to meet with, work with and brief senior management personnel. Customer service oriented, detail focused, pro-active behavior, multi-task capability. Must be able to communicate clearly both in writing and orally. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to train, lead projects, direct employees.Skills & Technology Used: Good problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills/techniques, strong communicator, possesses analytical and interpersonal skills. Functionally skilled in Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
