Job Description

Elevator technician assembles, install, adjust, maintain and repair electric and hydraulic freight and passenger lifts and escalators.

  • An experienced lift mechanic can perform more complex work functions and tasks, such as adjusting and tuning lifts to make sure they work safely and efficiently.
  • Elevator technicians examine elevators to assess what?s causing them to malfunction. Then, they use their specialized knowledge and fix those issues with a variety of tools and techniques, and they can read blueprints, perform cost estimates, and explain the work that they need to do to clients.
