Job Description

To operate the cash machine at a checkout area, safely handle cash and keep accurate records, help resolve customer complaints and problems, and assist in other store activities as assigned.

  • Greeting and answering customers questions and applying relevant customer service programs introduced by the company
  • Providing information to customers on procedures or policies of the store as assigned
  • Computing and recording totals of transactions
  • Counting money in cash drawers at the beginning of the shift to ensure that amounts are correct and there is adequate change.
  • Issuing receipts and change due to customers
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly checkout area
  • Offering customers carry-out service after the transaction
  • Receiving payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits
  • Requesting information or assistance using the paging system
  • Listening to and resolving customer complaints
  • Compiling and maintaining non-monetary reports and records
  • Participating in bagging, boxing, wrapping, gifts, and merchandise
  • Preparing cash up form at the end of duty hours
