Since 2014, Niagara College KSA (NC KSA) has operated technical and vocational training colleges throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of the Vision 2030 initiative and in partnership with the Colleges of Excellence (CoE). Headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, NC KSA provides community and customized training based on Niagara College Canadas expertise and international track records as one of Canada?s most innovative and enterprising applied learning post-secondary institutions. With a strong focus on developing ?world-? and ?work-? ready graduates.A strategic partnership between Saudi Aramco, Ministry of Labor and Social Development, TVTC & HRDF resulted in the establishment of the first academy for females in Al Khobar, Leading National Academy (LNA), which is not-for-profit legally independent entity aiming at leading diversification of employment opportunities and building the capabilities of the Saudi female workforce through economy driven, elite, and agile training; committed to the values of integrity, excellence, diversity, citizenship and safety responsibility. In partnership with NCKSA, LNA provides a specialized two-year diploma training program for entry-level jobs in new market opportunities.The first year, the Academic Program, solidifies English, IT, Math, and H&S skills as part of the performance-based curriculum. In the second year, the Job Skills Program provides the latest knowledge and skills training in different vocational trades and sectors (e.g. Supply Chain Management, Chemical Lab Technician, Business Administration, Electrical Technician, Quality Control Building Inspection, and Health & Safety and Environment). LNA prides itself on its integral reliance on smart learning solutions (e.g. iPads, Smartboards, blended learning) to efficiently equip carefully selected trainees (A2 minimum) through high quality training.Applications are invited for the position of Counselor, Learning & Career at Niagara College KSA, Leading National Academy (LNA) in Al Khobar. Reporting to the Campus Principal, the Counselor, Learning & Career is responsible for Career and Academic Development plans for trainees at LNA which involves regular monitoring of academic and non-academic performance through structured counselling meetings, developing actionable goals to resolve any issues of concern to enhance the learning process and create a culture of highly performance and career readiness for all trainees at LNA, overseeing approximately 100 trainees.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Connect with new trainees upon acceptance of admission to ensure overall readiness and escalate outstanding matters that would affect their ability to have a smooth and successful start.
  • Advise trainees on policies and procedures, program expectations and related and behavior academic matters.
  • Motivate and encourage high performance in extracurricular activities
  • Closely monitor trainee performance and proactively identify at-risk scenarios and identify opportunities to develop, implement, measure and improve academic success strategies and conduct follow-up meetings to ensure if their needs and goals have been met.
  • Provide proactive and timely outreach, referrals and intervention through a variety of communication methods.
  • Conduct one-on-one regular counselling sessions, ensuring development of both hard and soft skills.
  • Discern trainees? abilities and interests through interviews and individual meetings.
  • Develop processes, programs, activities or workshops to support the trainee population.
  • Support trainee success by collaborating with faculty and Trainee Services to address attendance and behavioral issues impeding the trainee?s progression.
  • Resolve trainee issues and concerns independently or in collaboration with other departments.
  • Manage comprehensive tracking and provide reports to faculty and Department Chairs regarding trainees? issues, concerns, goals and progress.
  • Support key departmental operations by tracking statistics, establishing and maintaining trainee files and generating supporting documentation as required.
  • Provide trainees with proactive guidance on acclimating to ensure their readiness for work environment and building supportive personal environments and best practices.
