Job Description

Works under the direction of Lead Engineer at the project level to accomplish the following:

  1. Develops and process, control philosophy, logic and wiring diagrams, instrument specifications and data sheets, sizing control valves, PRVs and orifices, control systems, PLC, DCS, ESD and SCADA is required. Shall be familiar with custody metering and leak detection (LDS) system.?Also familiar with Foundation Field Bus system.
  2. Extensive exposure / experience on FAT, SAT and commissioning of control system used in above-mentioned industries.
  3. Produces detailed design calculations and specifications for all Control Systems work associated with the project.?Any changes which directly affect design calculations should be incorporated by revision as they occur. Revisions should be documented on the calculations, signed, and dated by the engineer for use by design personnel.
  4. Checks calculations and specifications made by other engineers to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria and conformance to good engineering practice.
  5. Assists the design group in resolving routine layout and detailing problems. It is the responsibility of the engineer to furnish, with the initial design calculations, sufficient sketches and details necessary for completion of engineering drawings. This will minimize wasted time and preclude unnecessary rework of drawings in the design group.
  6. Monitors drawings in progress, working with the Lead Designer, to ensure conformance to design calculations.
  7. Consults with Lead Designers and Engineers from other disciplines to ensure the smooth flow of vital information necessary for the scheduled completion of the project.
  8. Advises Lead Engineer concerning design or scope changes which initiate or require an Engineering Change Order.
  9. Performs other tasks, as directed by the Lead Engineer, to enable other departments to accomplish their function regarding Control Systems engineering items.??
