Job Description

overseeing and managing all aspects of an organizations logistics and supply chain operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods and materials from suppliers to customers.

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize the supply chain and meet organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align logistics activities with overall business goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals, including supervisors, coordinators, and other staff.
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a high level of competence and motivation within the team.
  • Oversee the entire logistics process, from receipt of finished products from production to final delivery to customers,
  • Manage transportation networks, including choosing carriers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective shipping.
  • Track and optimize transportation routes to minimize lead times and transportation costs.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as disruptions in transportation, delays from vendors for finishing activities (galvanization, painting etc.) or any other matter.
  • Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and maintain business continuity.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
  • Regularly analyse performance metrics and implement improvements to optimize logistics processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations governing transportation, customs, and trade.
  • Develop and manage the logistics budget, identifying opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining service levels.
  • Negotiate favourable contracts with suppliers and service providers.
