Job Description

  • Supervising and instructing the operators on all operational issues concerning the Power Plant equipment as per the operational manuals and the set procedures and specifications.
  • Supervising the operation of all Power Plant equipment (Control Room, Turbine Generator Unit, Boilers, Water Treatment Unit, the 33-kV and 11-kV switchgear rooms, the firefighting system, process water supply to plants, and all Power Plant auxiliary equipment) by conducting regular site inspections. Monitor the measuring instruments readings and comparing with the normal required parameters, in addition to troubleshooting any abnormalities.
  • Carrying out the routine tests and checks for the equipment to ensure high level of reliability.
  • Preparing the Daily Things-To-Do List and shutdown jobs list .
  • Preparing the shift report indicating all major technical activities and events during the shift.
  • Reporting on any unsafe or abnormal condition in the Power Plant through issuing safety work requests to realize the maximum safety of people and equipment.
  • Preparing the TRAs for all tasks that may expose the employees or equipment in the Power Plant to risks.
  • Supervising and control the heavy fuel and diesel oil unloading and transferring to plants and report the level of fuel and diesel oil in storage tanks to the Power Plant Superintendent.
  • Training the new operators on the Power Plant equipment and prepare the on-job training materials for the Combined Cycle Systems staff.
  • Issuing the related permit-to-work forms for any equipment or system to be isolated for maintenance, and ensure full compliance with the permits requirements.
  • Conducting safety regular meetings and toolbox talks with subordinates, conducting scheduled safety tours at workplaces to ensure safe behavior especially wearing the PPE and safe conditions according to the safety policies, procedures and safety requirements and intervene with actions as required.
  • Managing the application of housekeeping 5S measures for the related workplace and monitor the performance, coordinate to rectify all notes with concerned department.
  • Complying with all APC policies and procedures and share them with the subordinates to assure all are understood and implemented effectively as per APC directions, regulations, and ISO standards.
  • Performing other duties as required.
