Job Description

  • Receive incoming trucks and check that materials and quantities match the packing slip.
  • Receive incoming couriers and check that materials and quantities match the packing slip.
  • Report any damages or discrepancies immediately to your supervisor or the shipping coordinator.
  • Warehouse incoming materials when no trucks in the door.
  • Loading outgoing trucks and checking that paperwork is correct.
  • Keep shipping entrance door area clean and clear of obstruction. Salt and shovel as required.
  • Check to make sure docks are working properly and report any problems to maintenance and your supervisor.
  • Staging and scanning materials for shipment.
  • Ensure the packages are clean and damage free.
  • Ensure shipments are properly labelled.
  • Make and apply Address labels for multi loads
  • Bin transferring must always be done and checked.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Safety policy
  • Consults logistics manager on logistics department procedures.
  • Consults production manager on job book and job closure related topics
  • Answer questions from supervisors and lead hands related to administrative manufacturing tasks and responsibilities
  • Discuss changes or problems with logistics manager.
  • Report problems or concerns to logistics manager.
  • Report system problems to IT through the IT Request System.
  • Communicate with the shipping coordinator by 2:00 pm daily what trucks are left to come.
  • Communicate with the person taking over trucks by 3:00 pm daily what still needs to be done.
  • Spend time with shipping coordinator to learn new tasks when time allows.
  • Spend time on projects when time allows.
