It the biggest civil engineering project in modern times?and its getting bigger. Bechtel has managed the Jubail project, located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, since it began in the mid-1970s. Bechtel serves as the Management Services Contractor (MSC), or ?owner?s representative? for our client, the Royal Commission (RC). We are the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) managers, managing design submissions from local AE firms, and overseeing the actual construction work being performed by local contractors and sub-contractors in Jubail Industrial City. In June 2021, Bechtel?s contract with the Royal Commission was renewed for another 5 years with work focusing on building new residential communities, iconic buildings/ bridges, major site preparation, commercial buildings, mosques, schools, hospitals, sports facilities, clinics, universities, utility services and infrastructure (electrical sub-stations, lift stations), roads and highways, port & pipeline expansions, and more.Work Location: Ras Al Khair.This position is based in Ras-Al-Khair. You will be required to commute 90 KM on a daily basis (one direction) using the available transportation facility or company provided vehicle.Major Responsibilities:The Lead Field Civil Engineer is the front end of Bechtel?s operations in Jubail, responsible for overseeing multiple contractors to construct, test and commission all large scale highways and roadwork?s projects whilst maintaining a positive health and safety working environment with the site team and proactively eliminating rework through an effective quality control program.The Lead Field Civil Engineer reviews and approves all quality assurance and health and safety documentation and is then responsible for working with the contractor to implement these practices on the construction site. The Lead Field Civil Engineer will be capable of independently working with the contractor whilst representing the client on site, he shall be competent to read, analyze and advise on interpreting design drawings and specifications and proactively identify conflicts between the disciplines.The Lead Field Civil Engineer shall have experience in the design and construction of highways and bridges including earthworks, drainage, asphalt and reinforced concrete structures.JOB DIMENSIONS:A.
