Job Description

The engineer will be responsible for resolving problems in corrosion control and materials performance affecting the gas-oil separation plants (GOSPs) process and utility units under Khurais Inspection Unit. The incumbent should be an expert in the corrosion engineering field and is required to undertake or coordinate complex engineering work related to inspection activities.Duties & Responsibilities:˙he will be required to perform the following:

  • Provide expert advice and front line technical support to maintenance and operation personnel on all corrosion control activities throughout the GOSPs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the chemical inhibitors in the GOSPs and assist in the benchmarking of the corrosion control practices.
  • Provide expert advice and assistance on matters pertaining to corrosion and scaling prediction
  • Review corrosion mitigation and monitoring activities in the field to identify needed system modifications or procedural changes
  • Initiate and conduct special studies to minimize/control the corrosion in Khurais facilities and provide special technical service in the design and construction of corrosion control projects. Work with concerned area inspectors and process engineers to monitor and control corrosion and act as mentor to develop competent young corrosion engineers.
