Job Description

SummaryProvides the needed advice and guidance to Environmental Permit and Environmental Water Monitoring Sections as needed, through field visits, on-site inspections, sample collection and testing.Reports to Environmental Team Lead, supports the department in daily operations as a Regulatory Agency for the City of Jazan, interfaces with RC management, industries, and EPCD team members. Receives administrative and technical direction in terms of broad project objectives from Environmental Protection and Control Department Director and Environmental Team Lead.You see the trees and the forestWhat some may consider a small oversight can cause a major work problem. We hold your skills in high esteem and can?t wait to hear from you.Major Activities Performed:?Monitors and takes measurements for corrective action when appropriate for the following issues:

  • Meteorological and water measurements.
  • Production and disposal operations of industrial waste in the city.
  • The transportation of materials to and from the industrial port.
  • Sampling and analysis of irrigation and drinking water.
  • Wild and marine life preservation.
  • Administers environmental control laboratories and undertakes studies to determine the impact of industrial operations on the environment.
  • Evaluates the impact of pollution on water, soil and marine and terrestrial ecology and other environmental sensitive areas.
  • Develops scopes of work for environmental studies.
  • Manages subcontractors performing environmental studies and reviews/comments on work products.?
  • Provides analytical support to determine fines and penalty values on the basis of industry violations and non-adherence.
  • Performs periodic inspections on the facilities and areas to ensure environmental and water compliance.
  • Evaluates the self-monitoring reports and other technical reports submitted by industries and coordinates with other sections regarding violations.
  • Review industry environmental compliance with RC requirements and determine if any extent of deviation from the RC regulations and standards.
  • Participates in periodic revision of RC Environmental regulations and standards and implement the same in line with Kingdom?s laws, international regulations and standards and best practices. Sets and monitors the Royal Commission?s (RC) environmental regulations and standards in line with the government?s environmental standards and best practices.
