We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Applications Engineer to support and maintain critical industrial control system applications across our world-class gasification and power facilities.The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, performance, security, and reliability of plant control system applications, ensuring continuous operational support and compliance with industry best practices. This role requires strong expertise in DCS, SCADA, industrial protocols, and OT application environments.Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Applications AdministrationAdminister and maintain plant applications including:DCS (Distributed Control Systems)SCADA SystemsAlarm Management Systems (ALMS)OSIsoft PI HistorianAspen IP.21Other plant-critical applicationsManage application user accounts, Active Directory integrations, group policies, and access rights.Maintain and support industrial communication protocols including DSA, FTE, S7, Modbus, OPC, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP.Ensure application backups are current and recoverable.Coordinate with Instrumentation & Control (I&C) teams on application configurations and troubleshooting.Ensure systems are properly licensed, patched, and supported according to vendor recommendations.Operational Support & ReliabilityMonitor application performance, health, and availability.Troubleshoot connectivity issues, protocol errors, and application-related incidents.Maintain comprehensive records of services, system status, and application performance.Support OT systems and network teams in resolving DCS/PCS-related issues.Apply vendor-recommended updates and patches.Security, Compliance & DocumentationImplement cybersecurity controls and role-based access management (RBAC).Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, system configurations, and support manuals.Support compliance with company standards, change management processes, and OT security requirements.Implement audit findings and compliance recommendations.RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree in:Electrical EngineeringElectronics EngineeringComputer EngineeringComputer ScienceOr a related technical disciplineExperience6 years of hands-on experience supporting industrial control system applications in process industries, power plants, petrochemical, oil & gas, or similar environments.Strong experience with control system platforms such as:Honeywell ExperionSiemens PCS 7Siemens T3000 SPPAOther DCS environmentsExperience in installation, configuration, administration, and support of plant applications.SkillsTechnical SkillsIndustrial communication protocols:OPC DA/UAModbus TCP/RTUS7Serial CommunicationsActive Directory and access managementApplication backup and recoveryCybersecurity and OT environment best practicesTroubleshooting and root cause analysisPreferred QualificationsVendor certifications from Honeywell, Siemens, or equivalent control system providers.Experience in critical industrial production environments.Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
