Job Description

PurposeÿTo provide Mechanical Piping and Fixed Equipment project engineering ownership and oversight to ensure the success of the FAITS project for the working and safe & reliable operation of IGCC plant facilities under JIGPC in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.ÿÿÿNature & ScopeThe Jazan IGCC is the world?s largest IGCC and ASU facility producing 2100 MMSCFD syngas, 18,000 MT/Day Oxygen and 4 Gigawatts of power. Facilities and assets include; residue gasification, acid gas clean up (Rectisol), soot ash recovery, sulphur recovery (Claus & Scot), combined cycle power plants, materials handling systems, hydrogen recovery, air separation, water utilities systems and waste water treatment facilities.ÿThe role will sit within a multidisciplinary engineering project team under the supervision and guidance of the project Technical Lead whilst reporting directly to the Project Manager.ÿPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESSafety

• Provide & maintain a safe work environment for self & others.ÿEmploy good housekeeping methods and demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to prevent injuries.

• Lead in the provision of engineering evaluation & determinations, issue technical direction & guidance, and oversee Inspection & Quality Assurance initiatives for all mechanicalÿequipment and pressure systems troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, repair, and test activities.
• Lead in the provision of engineering support & guidance during the construction & commissioning of the plants.ÿMaintain accurate documentation for plant?s mechanical equipment and pressure systems and validate construction and commissioning activities.ÿMonitor quality assurance initiatives including equipment installation & assembly, alignment, cleanliness, integrity, etc.
• Lead in the provision of engineering input for development & preservation of equipment standards, procedures, best practices, inspection contracts, and contractor selection guidelines.
• Develop detailed engineering specifications,ÿevaluate quotations, perform technical bid evaluations & vendor document review.ÿ
• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive risk-based inspection and quality control program working with our quality control departmentÿfor all mechanical equipment and pressure systems.
• Establish & maintain a relationship with the local inspection bureau, maintain relevant statutory, regulatory, technology standards, and code information consistent with JIGPC plant operational objectives and local regulations.
• Provide engineering support to project development and project management activities (including scope, budget, schedule, execution strategies, risk plans, cost collection / reporting, etc.) for the execution of all projects and turnaround activities.ÿ

• Drive continuous improvement in safety performance, reliability, and cost of quality goals.ÿ
• Establish & maintain relationships with regional Mechanical based systems & equipment suppliers.ÿÿÿ
• Foster and support positive working relationships with internal and external customers, in particular the EPC where support and guidance are essential to meet the schedule.ÿ
• Support, mentor, and develop local Piping and Fixed Equipment Engineers.ÿ
