Job Description

PurposeLaboratory Technician is accountable to deliver laboratory services by collecting samples, performing testing, documenting and communicating results, and operating and maintaining laboratory equipment required for the day to day operations of specific plant unit of JIGPC in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.Nature & ScopeThe Laboratory Technician, reporting to the Sr. Lab Technician, undertake a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature. The job covers handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances and conduct tests reporting findings to a Sr. Lab Technician.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESSafety

  • Maintain a safe work environment.Demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to preventallinjuries.Ensure proper documentation is maintained for safety related activities.
Laboratory:
  • Maintaining the laboratory equipment and hardware and making sure it is properly cared for, performing maintenance and repairs, and replacing equipment when necessary.
  • Set up equipment and tools for testing, which includes calibrating equipment and instruments and testing them to make sure they are functioning properly.
  • Maintain inventory levels and appropriately organize and label all supplies and as well as equipment
  • Performs regular tests in accordance with scientific procedures and company policies.
  • Collects test samples, generate data, identify and process specimens, and record all findings and results.
  • Prepare and organize all data and findings, inputting all data in necessary files and systems and creating documents and presentations to communicate results with other staff members.
  • Receive, label and analyze samples as required by daily operations
  • Design and execute laboratory testing according standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings
  • Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods
  • Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions
  • Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
  • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
