Responsible for review of data relating to corrosion of materials, protective coatings, and cathodic protection. Make recommendations to the suitability of materials of specific applications.Organizational Relationship:Reports to the Director, Engineering Department. Interfaces with other RC/MSC Departments?Major Activities Performed:Review data relating to corrosion of materials, protective coatings and cathodic protection.Recommend the suitability of various materials for specific applications.Review contractors procedures for the application and installation of protective coatings and cathodic protection systems.Coordinate with other departments in matters relating to corrosion and protection of materials.Review the activities of the independent testing laboratory, corrosion or metallurgy.Coordinate with quality control personnel in the areas of corrosion and materials.Conduct inspection to determine the extent of corrosion and make recommendations for corrective maintenance.Prepare technical correspondence, reports and studies.Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction.Additional duties and responsibilities per the attached sheet.
