Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe EHS Specialist role is to ensure the JIGPC EHS&S requirements are met at all times by the Contractors while executing projects at plant.The incumbent is expected to be able to manage the Contractor Safety Management Processes.Other duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensure Contractor?s site management team implements their Safety management system in conformance with JIGPC EHS requirements.
  • Work with Proponent to identify the risk associated with the scope of work and identify control measures and communicate with the Contractor to ensure they comply.
  • Provide necessary support to Proponent to fulfil EHS part of Contractor Onboarding process.
  • Work together with operations, maintenance, and project team in Risk assessment, Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) and the Permit to Work (PTW) system requirements.
  • Conduct regular and periodic inspection and audits on field to verify compliance of EHS requirements by Contractors.
  • Provide consultancy and support to the Contractors in understanding and interpreting JIGPC EHS requirements.
  • Identify the need of competent person for the project execution and verify their documentation. E.g., heavy equipment operators, permit to work receivers, etc.
  • Work with Project Delivery and EHS team to conduct periodic meetings with Contractors to evaluate their site safety performance against the set targets/KPI.
  • Responsible to maintain the administrative part of the process by maintaining, contractor?s documentation, contractor EHS events, equipment list, etc.
  • Review JSAs, Permits, and other required documentation to ensure they are suitable and understood for work being conducted.
  • Mentor and coach contractor personnel on EHS related matters.
  • Inspect competent personnel certification to ensure they are valid and appropriate for the job.
  • Participate Contractors? toolbox talk, recognition programs, and other EHS activities.
  • Provide necessary guidance and consultancy to Contractors? EHS team.
