Grade Level: L3Location: IslamabadLast date to apply: 14th March, 2023What is Stream Head General Ledger?Stream Head General Ledger is responsible for timely and accurate recording and reporting of all transactions in line with International Financial Reporting Standards, regulatory laws and Group and Local Policies and Procedures also focuses on effective completion of monthly closing process. This role is responsible for managing the month end closing process, Opex accruals and analysis, trade inventory and leases reporting while insuring service delivery objectives are met in line with agreed KPIs and targets.This position reports to Head of Record to Report and has a team of 05 members directly reporting.What does Stream Head General Ledger do?

  • Review of monthly management accounts and CFO reporting dashboards, variance analysis between budget/forecast vs actual and between previous and current periods linked with business rationale.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with IFRS and adherence to standard/local practices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely closing of all sub-ledgers and its related impacts are reflected in books.
  • Ensures that monthly closing process is efficiently carried out and analyses prepared in-line with the KPIs set by the company and VEON Group requirements
  • Work closely with Corporate Accounting teams.
  • Review of all closing activities related to expense recording and reporting in various areas such as business cost, HR cost, structural Opex, trade inventory and leases.
  • Preparation of schedules for Accounting Quality Assurance (AQA) and reporting pack and coordination with other finance teams for ensuring the quality of agreed KPIs.
  • Ensures timely and effective completion of external audits and reviews and ensures timely resolution of external auditor?s queries.
  • Independently lead process improvement initiatives such as ERP implementation and automation.
  • Adopt a people-focused approach to ensure a comfortable environment for team members that promotes learning, growth and professional development in line with the organization?s objectives.
  • Ensure compliance and review of both key and non-key SOX controls.
  • Ensure compliance with service delivery SLAs and KPIs.
  • Act as a key contact person for liaison with finance and non-finance departments.
