Principal ETL Engineer ? Informatica

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Informatica ETL Engineer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL processes, data integration, and a deep understanding of Informatica tools. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our ETL pipelines, ensuring high performance and data quality across our data ecosystem.ÿResponsibilities?ÿ

• Design, develop, and optimize ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter and other Informatica tools.ÿ
• Implement ETL solutions to extract, transform, and load data from various data sources into the data warehouse.ÿ
• Integrate data from multiple heterogeneous sources including databases, flat files, APIs, and cloud platforms.ÿ
• Develop and maintain data integration solutions to support analytics, reporting, and other business functions.ÿ
• Ensure data quality and integrity through robust validation, cleansing, and transformation processes.ÿ
• Optimize ETL workflows for performance, ensuring efficient data processing and minimal latency.ÿ
• Collaborate with data architects, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.ÿ
• Lead and mentor junior ETL developers, providing guidance on best practices and technical skills.ÿ
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for ETL processes, data mappings, and system configurations.ÿ
• Generate reports on ETL performance, data quality, and other key metrics for stakeholders.ÿ
• Monitor ETL processes and workflows to ensure smooth operation and timely data availability.ÿ
• Troubleshoot and resolve ETL-related issues, providing timely support and solutions.ÿ
• Stay current with the latest developments in Informatica tools and ETL technologies.ÿ
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation.ÿ
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and data security standards.ÿ
• Implement best practices for data privacy and protection.ÿ

Requirements

• Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.ÿ
• 5+ years of experience in ETL development with a focus on Informatica PowerCenter and related tools.ÿ
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.ÿ
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and data integration best practices.ÿ
• Proven ability to optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability.ÿ
• Experience with Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) and Informatica Cloud.ÿ
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) for automation and data manipulation.ÿ
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.ÿ
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.ÿ
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.ÿ
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.ÿ
• Knowledge of other ETL tools (e.g., Talend, DataStage) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is idea
