Grade Level: L2Location: IslamabadLast date to apply: 13 June 2023What is Expert Foreign Trade Operations?*We are seeking an Expert in Foreign Trade Operations to support our telecom companys Trade operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our trade operations are properly administered and that our customers receive the best possible service.The role reports directly to the Manager Foreign Trade and has 2 people reporting directly into it with an extended team of 3 team membersWhat Expert Foreign Trade Operations does?

  • Trade Compliance: Ensure adherence to international 7 local trade laws, regulations, and customs requirements to minimize legal and financial risks. Stay updated with evolving trade policies, sanctions, embargoes, to ensure compliance in all trade activities.
  • Import/Export Operations: Manage end-to-end import and export processes, including documentation, customs clearance, shipping logistics, and trade finance.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks associated with foreign trade operations, such as trade restrictions, currency fluctuations, political instability, and supply chain disruptions. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and safeguard the organizations interests.
  • Trade Finance and Payment: Collaborate with finance teams and banks to manage international payment processes, including letters of credit, trade finance instruments, and foreign exchange transactions. Optimize cash flow and minimize financial exposure by leveraging suitable trade finance options.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with international suppliers, customers, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, procurement, and legal, to ensure seamless coordination and effective communication throughout the trade process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize foreign trade operations by implementing best practices, streamlining processes, and leveraging technology solutions. Drive efficiency, cost savings, and operational excellence in international trade activities.
