Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization working in more than 40 countries in the fields of nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene, and care practices. ACF is looking for its program in Jordan for? WASH Deputy Program ManagerWork place: ?Jordan - IRBID and RamthaPosition Overview: Under the direct supervision of the WASH Program manager, The Deputy Program Manager is responsible for the?WASH department (Soft WASH technically and Management + Hard wash Management)?activities as assigned by the line managerMain Tasks:1) Ensure implementation of field activities in line with project proposals and directions from the WASH Program Manager

• Support WASH PM and participate in planning, scheduling and developing all program components.
• Keep a close communication with the WASH PM to update him/her on the on-going activities, potential problems / threats and successes.
• Implement the defined methodology of the WASH department under strict supervision and directions of the WASH PM.
• Propose solutions and possible improvements and elaborate lessons learned / capitalization material.
• Supervise and Support the team in compiling and following-up beneficiaries? lists among different projects components.
• Lead the beneficiaries? selection following the criteria set by Action Against Hunger if applicable?, with involvement and contribution of partners when applicable.
• Follow up on the project need, prepare the PPP and BOQs and submit and initiate the procurement request based on that.
• Follow the project?s needs and procurements and report to WASH PM;
• Ensure a continuous evaluation of methods and follow-up of projects, and propose improvements
• Assess continuously the projects? follow-up methods and propose improvements

2) Organize and follow data collection and processing

• Planning data collection in collaboration with the Program Officer
• Develop appropriate questionnaires or any need assessment for WASH activities?
• Contribute to ensure harmonization and updating of data entry and analysis and activity indicators with the project officer Participate in the analysis and drafting of the activity and evaluation reports

3) Participate in project reporting, internally and externally and coordination with other support departments

• Report to the Program Manager the work progress on a weekly basis including implemented work, next week?s target, difficulties, problems and updates.
• Report on staff related issues, team?s weekly plans and safety issues.
• Provide regular reports on project indicator progress following the program documents.
• Participate in preparation of donor reports and Action Against Hunger activity progress reports.
• Ensure regular updates to WASH PM on Partners activities through the reporting system.
• Participate, under the supervision and with the support of the Program Manager, to the financial management of the project.
• Coordinate and follow up with other departments such as Support and MEAL departments according to the needs of the projects

4) Lead, manage and provide technical support to the team

• Work closely with PM in preparing the work plan and organizing the activities;
• Train and supervise the team members and develop training topics;
• Provide the team with daily technical and organizational support;
• Provide direction, assign tasks and give instructions to staff under his / her supervision, and follow up their individual work plans.
• Carry out appraisals and evaluation of the team under his/her supervision.
• Organize the overall work flow of the team to optimize the capacity of each team member, and coordinate with the team members for the joint activities.
• Participate in the recruiting process of direct supervised position.
• Explain and ensure application of the hygiene and water management methodologies
• Explain and ensure application of the WASH management methodologies in and through the team
• Carry out appraisals and evaluation of the supervision team

5) Participate in the coordination, representation and partnerships of Action Against Hunger

• Upon request of the WASH PM, participate in meetings and events for WASH meetings.
• Represent Action Against Hunger in coordination meetings when the WASH PM are not available or upon their request.
• Liaise with support services teams, Finance, HR, Admin and Logistics, MEAL department and any other work related departments or stakeholders.
• Ensure communication between the Water and sanitation, Hygiene program manager, and WASH Team teams.
• Participate in internal and external coordination meetings.
• Identify active partners in the field of CMAR activities and make sure that they meet Action Against Hunger selection criteria.
• Present Action Against Hunger implementation and support the engagement of the partners in the project(s) activities (conditional grants, revolving funds, activities implementations, capacity building?)
• Perform partner?s assessments to identify technical and business bottlenecks and provide recommendations.
• Provide regular coaching sessions to the Partners to reach project objectives.
• Carry out regular visits to monitor and follow up on daily activities.
• Carry out regular field visits to monitor and follow up on the implementation of the ongoing activities, identify and anticipate problems or constraints and propose solutions and possible improvements
• Develop and ensure applying safety procedures and standards

6) Ensure adherence to Action against Hunger gender requirements

• Commit and comply with the organization gender, age and diversity principles & policies (working with people, communication)
• Lead on the promotion of gender, age and diversity principles through daily activities and or through the management of their teams and through the planning and implementation of operations and strategies (Managing performance & development)
