While there are multiple business card titles, Product Engineering roles usually entail activities dealing with issues of production cost, feasibility, quality, performance, reliability, serviceability and customized user features. Addressing these product characteristics may include design, development and transitioning of the product to manufacturing.Provides engineering and technical support to all Services and Solutions personnel, Sales and customers to develop the best possible solutions to aftermarket jobs. Performs technical interpretation of specifications, procedures, policies, quality, and equipment reliability to concerned parties.Position RequirementsManages design projects involving complex designs, including oversight of resources and technical issuesDemonstrates ability to handle multiple product linesDevelops engineering standards and work proceduresProvides engineering lead times and estimated hours for new proposals.Cultivate and strengthen close working relationships with the Sales, Ops, OA and other functions to communicate progress and issues on engineering projects and to promote company s best interests.Monitor, advance and sustain performance against a set of approved centralized/regional KPIs; initiate & implement process improvements which continuously enhance performance & service to the customer.Support preparation and updating of customer presentations on ongoing projects.Supervise and/or conduct design analysis using calculations, FEA s, & other design verification methods and document results.Provide guidance in support of service centers in the inspection & analysis of pump elements.Lead cooperation with Product, Industry & Engineering Specialists, & corporate technology to provide as needed solutions to complicated pump problems.Works with other Design Engineers to promptly investigate & resolve shop floor problems relating to design or quality issues; record & report findings, make corrections & help develop and implement permanent, cost effective solutions.Lead design review process for a given project.Ensures on-time performance of assigned tasksSuccessfully implements project deliverablesDrives product cost reductionLeads time reduction activitiesProvides engineering analysis qualityProvides responses to internal and external customer feedbackMeet departmental reporting requirements.Compliant and timely design review reporting.Drives safety goalsPreferencesBachelor of Science Engineering degree or equivalent and/or 3+ years related experienceRecognized as a qualified engineer by external certifying bodies, as indicated by ProfessionalAble to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyDesign for Six Sigma (DFSS)Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) certificationAbility to work and lead in a project environment with multi-discipline project teams.Excellent understanding of pump applications and types, clear understanding of hydraulic fundamentals and how these relate to pumps and pump.Team-oriented; Leading values of communication and involvement of others.Ability to work closely with internal and external customers (face to face or by telephone) and has good verbal and written communication skillsHigh standard of written & spoken English; strong PC skills; additional language skills desirableAble to effectively self manage; makes decisions around priorities, and manages several priorities at one time.
