Electrical Supervisor

Job Description

Role Objective:Responsible for planning and supervising the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment and components. Assist the Section Head in ensuring the implementation, coordination and supervision of QNCCs Electrical Section objectives. Assist the Electrical Engineer in ensuring the implementation, coordination and supervision of objectives.Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:ÿOPERATIONALÿ

• Review technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and QNCC?s requirements.
• Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Confer with engineers and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
• Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and QNCC?s requirements.
• Decide on the type and arrangement of circuits, transformers, circuit-breakers, transmission lines and equipment, based on calculations.
• Review specifications, drawings and regulations for the use of electric power equipment.
• Make or improve products such as electric motors, parts, equipment and appliances.
• Review calculations done by the Electrical Engineers to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
• Evaluate existing field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate electrical or system malfunctions.
• Develop solutions to problems that may arise to ensure non-recurrence and treatment.
• Identify gaps in the electrical engineering plans and designs agreed and address the concerns for the related authorities to review and discuss.
• Work out delivery and installation schedules for machines, switchgear, cables and fittings.
• Ensure that completed works meet specifications and safety standards.
• Ensure that electrical activities are properly monitored and all quality records are established and maintained.ÿ
• Review specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
• Closely monitor site inspectors/engineers? performance.
• Analyze information related to electrical works and prepare engineering reports on that regard to the management.
• Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.

• Allocate work to employees in the team, nominate for training as per QNCC?s guidelines in accordance with Electrical Engineer and HR Department, conduct performance reviews and manage leave and overtime of staff to ensure efficiency.
• Supervise employees in their day-to-day tasks and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback and counseling.ÿ
• Report employee leaves and regular vacation to the Electrical Engineer.
