Job Description

  • Reporting to the MEA Regional Director, the successful candidate will be engaged in one of more of the following activities:
  • Providing technical sustainability support as the nominated sustainability professional on Projects teams in order to enable Projects to achieve sustainability goals and targets;
  • Coordinating sustainability meetings and workshops with all project stakeholders in order to identify and incorporate relevant sustainable design and management alternatives into the Project at all Project stages;
  • Coordinating with client, subconsultant and contractor representatives, authorities and certifying bodies towards achievement of Project sustainability objectives and targets;
  • Preparing and/or reviewing technical documentation including studies, drawings, reports, plans, narratives and supporting documentation in order to ensure quality in terms of content, formatting and accuracy;
  • Providing technical input during Project design, tendering and construction supervision stages;
  • Responding to requests for information (RFIs) and other technical queries, issuing RFIs and clarification requests, and coordinating with stakeholders to obtain information as required;
  • Conducting design and construction audits and site inspections and monitoring implementation of corrective actions;
  • Coordinating and participating in meetings and workshops with client, environmental agencies, consultants and contractors;
  • Preparing meeting minutes, progress reports and presentations; delivering presentations;
  • Preparing and delivering training to Project teams at kick-off and early project stages;
  • Assisting with all aspects of registration to enable projects to obtain required licenses / permits/ approvals from authorities or certifying bodies;
  • Preparing scopes of work and evaluating proposals related to procurement of sustainability consultants;
  • Preparing sub-consultancy task orders, assisting the Project Manager in overseeing the performance of consultants and reviewing deliverables for quality in terms of content, formatting and accuracy;
  • Assisting with corporate level reports and initiatives;
  • Assisting with development and administration of process and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Performing the above activities for the environmental function in addition to the sustainability function.
