KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)? Conduct market analyses to find the best-value suppliers, with a focus on the GCC/UAE region.? Assess market dynamics in the GCC/UAE region to enhance WFPs procurement of food items.? Maintain and support the development of strategic supplier networks across the GCC to foster a robust supply chain.? Leverage local knowledge to enhance WFPs procurement of high-quality food items within the UAE region and beyond.? Participate in relevant food suppliers events in the GCC region to expand WFPs network.? Contribute to tailored procurement strategies for the GCC/UAE market to increase the number of tenders received by WFP from local and regional food suppliers.? Monitor global market trends and pricing, with a focus on the GCC/UAE region.? Stay updated on advancements in the GCC/UAE market to promote innovation in procurement practices.? Organize meetings between WFP colleagues and vendors to align food solutions with WFPs procurement needs.? Fulfill any other duties as required to support WFPs objectives.Position requirements:? University degree in Food Technology, Agriculture, (Food) Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, International relations, or a related field. ? Bilingual, proficiency in Arabic and English. ? Driven and motivated by WFPs mandate, showcasing a commitment to humanitarian goals. Strong work ethic, and genuine willingness to contribute to advancing global food security. ? Readiness to travel to all locations across GCC and to locations where WFP operates.? Minimum of 1-year post-graduate experience, ideally in a commercial, business, procurement, or supply chain position. ? Excellent people skills, a proven team approach. ? The ability to thrive in multicultural environments, and a curious mindset geared towards analytical thinking and innovation. ? Track record of achieving tangible and measurable results in previous roles with an ability to set and meet ambitious targets aligned with organizational objectives. ?
