Job Description

JOB PURPOSEThe role holder is responsible for supporting and implementing security architecture for Smart Dubai and promoting secure development practices that increase the security of the Smart Dubai systems / solutions. The role holder is also responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders in the evaluation, development, and implementation of IT security initiatives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Daily Operations

• Conduct daily operations ensuring that work processes are optimally delivered adopting a continuous improvement mindset
• Provide management information and insights on all dimensions of work area performance to facilitate discussion and decision making, both on a periodic basis and for ad-hoc management requests

1. Job Specific Accountability

• Assist in the development of a strategic security architecture vision including standards, policies, procedures that are aligned with overall business strategy and industry best practices and standards such ISO, NIST, SOC, etc
• Review existing IT security architecture, identifying design gaps and recommending security enhancements
• Determine security requirements by evaluating Smart Dubai business strategies and requirements, researching information security standards, conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments, studying architecture/platform
• Assist in the development of new security architectures, security policies, principles and standards as needed by actual or expected business change at Smart Dubai
• Drive the integration of security systems with security operational processes at Smart Dubai, building on and improving those processes across the organization
• Support IT Security Department in creating, reviewing and updating the information security strategy and roadmaps on a periodic basis
• Perform the deployment, integration and initial configuration of all new security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions at Smart Dubai
• Upgrade security systems by monitoring security environment, identifying security gaps, evaluating and implementing enhancements
• Research current as well as emerging security threats and design security architecture to mitigate threats where possible
• Evaluate new and emerging security technologies for potential suitability in the Smart Dubai?s environment
• Develop Smart Dubai security architecture compliant with industry standards, global benchmarks, as well as governmental regulations
• Report actual or suspected vulnerabilities/breaches in the confidentiality, integrity or availability of Data and Security breaches to Information Security Office

1. Self-Management

• Define performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensure that the goals are monitored and achieved during the course of the year
• Take ownership of his/her own learning agenda by identifying development needs and address these gaps with an individual development plan, detailing the appropriate actions to be taken, in consultation with the reporting manager
• Strive to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role
• Keep abreast of relevant professional/industry developments, new techniques and current topics through continued education and professional networks

1. Policies, Processes & Procedures

• Implement and monitor approved Department policies, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost-effective services
• Optimization of policies, processes and procedures emphasizing digitization and paperless strategies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSQualifications

• Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or equivalent

Professional Certifications

• Relevant certification in IT Security such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) or equivalent preferred

Years of Experience

• 3 years of relevant experience in IT Security Architecture

Nature ofExperience

• 1 year in a position of progressively increasing managerial responsibility
• Experience with a multinational company preferred

Job SpecificSkills

• Demonstrated skill in the designing / implementing of IT security architecture
• Ability to explain technical issues to business individuals

Business Language Skills

• Fluent written and spoken English essential, Arabic preferred

Communication and Interaction Skills

• Interprets or explains data or information to deliver messages to audiences not knowledgeable about the subject matter where information may be non-routine in nature
