Job Description

As a Senior Oracle Database Engineer, you will be joining the Cigna technology team that is responsible for building and maintaining .Net based applications and services supporting the Middle East region and Health Services businesses. Working as a member of an agile team, you?ll be responsible for supporting our Oracle database and Oracle Fusion implementations that are hosted internally and in the Oracle cloud environment.About YouYou?re an experienced Oracle Database Engineer with a strong track record of delivery and the desire to learn additional technical skills in complementary toolkits and packages.Passionate about all things technology and an expert when it comes to Oracle Database technologies. You?ll be driven and have a desire to keep up to date with the latest industry trends and products.The type of person that loves the challenge of solving complex technical problems by thinking outside the box.Core responsibilities:

• Managing installations of Oracle database, RAC, dataguard and Golden Gate on various platforms.
• Install, maintain and manage instances of Oracle database in the OCI cloud environment.
• Define, implement and manage security controls to ensure the safety and availability of Cigna?s data within the Oracle database environments
• Ensure product versions remain current and security patching is completed on time
• Monitor and take action as necessary to ensure the database remains healthy and unplanned downtime is avoided
• Support the applications and product teams with schema setup, load balancing, failover and connection management.
• Perform troubleshooting as needed alongside application teams for incident/problem management
• Proactively monitor and maintain the system, continually tuning for performance.

Essential:

• Bachelor?s degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent or a related discipline
• Minimum of 7 years experience in supporting and managing Oracle database solutions in a production environment
• Expert knowledge/experience on Oracle architecture and administration
• Solid understanding of network concepts, storage systems, ASM disk groups
• Solid hands on experience in installing Oracle products (database, RAC, dataguard and Golden Gate)
• Hands on experience of installing/managing Oracle databases in the cloud (OCI and ATP)
• Experience of performing database patching and version upgradesSolid hands on experience in analysing Oracle Trace files, listener log, Alert log
• Expert in data extraction, transformation, masking, subsetting and loading techniques
• Solid hands on experience with SQL tuning, configuration or resource manager
• Organized and structured approach with the ability to co-ordinate and manage multiple moving parts.
• Ability to estimate work effort required

Desirable:

• Oracle Certified.
• Experience of Oracle Fusion
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies
