Vacancy Senior Officer Commercial & Economic Affairs DepartmentThe Dutch Consulate General in Dubai is looking for a full time (35 hours/week) Senior Officer for its Commercial & Economic Affairs Department.Basic details of jobJob Title: Senior Officer Commercial & Economic Affairs DepartmentUnit / Mission: Netherlands Consulate General in Dubai (DBA)Job Level: scale 08 (local)Number of hours per week: 35Tasks and ResponsibilitiesBilateral trade promotion in the broader sense of the word.Answering trade questions and assisting Dutch businesses in UAE market.Identification of business opportunities in the UAE for Dutch business sectors and individual businesses.Preparation of files, speeches, presentations, Notes Verbales and other documents relevant to the Commercial & Economic department.Preparation and (co-)organization of incoming and outgoing visits and (trade) missions.Initiating and organizing seminars on relevant business related subjects.Attending relevant trade fairs.Creation of a strong and relevant network of contacts within both the public and private sector in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.(Contribute to) periodic economical and sectoral reporting.?Follow and report on relevant economic rules and regulations in the UAE, and Dubai and the Northern Emirates especially.Registration of documents on 24/7 Plaza.Registration of relevant business contacts in CRM system Achilles.Result AreasEffective and efficient support to Dutch businesses, The Netherlands Enterprise Agency and relevant branch organizations in the Netherlands on commercial and economic issues.Timely and relevant reporting on economic and commercial issues, business opportunities and the trade relations between the UAE and the Netherlands.Creation of a strong network of contacts in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, relevant to the Commercial and Economic Department of the Consulate General.Registration of relevant documents on 24/7 Plaza.Up to date registration of relevant business contacts in CRM system AchillesVisible promotion of the so called Dutch Top sectors, and the innovative image of the Netherlands as a knowledge based economy.?Working EnvironmentThe Commercial and Economic Department of the Netherlands Consulate General in Dubai consists of two Senior commercial & economic ?officers, two members of the Dutch EXPO project team, and (most often) one intern. The Commercial and Economic Department is headed by the deputy Consul General. In your daily work, you will work closely together with colleagues of the Agricultural department, colleagues of the Commercial and Economic Department of the Netherlands Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) in The Hague.As part of our regional multiyear campaign to promote the strengths of the Netherlands in the Gulf region, Dutch Embassies and Consulates General will concentrate their efforts around the theme?Uniting Water, Energy & Food.?An important milestone in this campaign is the participation of? the Netherlands in the EXPO 2020 that will take place in Dubai from 20 October 2020 till 10 April 2021. It is expected for the members of the Economic and Commercial Department of the Consulate General to assist in organizing and preparing incoming (trade) missions and other visits related to the EXPO.
