Senior Mobile Engineer - iOSat Rain Dubai, Dubai, United Arab EmiratesLocation -Dubai / RemoteJob Title -Senior iOS Engineer The Engineering team at Rain combines software and systems engineering to build large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant applications and systems. Our Engineers are usually Software Craftsmen/women who continuously strive to raise the bar across our Engineering teams.About The RoleAs an iOS Engineer at Rain, you will be joining a team of talented Software Engineers with overall accountability for end to end development. You will be responsible for developing applications (apps) for Apple devices and getting them into the App Store. You will work as part of a team to define, design and implement features in the application. You will identify and correct deficiencies and fix errors in codes that show as bugs. You will need the technical chops to roll up your sleeves and provide hands-on technical leadership on major projects, but also empower and grow your teammates to do the same. You will advocate and act as a subject matter expert for a specific technology stack and engage actively with senior technology leadership to define the strategic technology roadmap for your area and work with development teams and product owners to plan, prioritize and execute technical strategy based on the roadmap. You should have an incredible capacity for both detail and big picture thinking and be able to apply your technical skills to every layer of our technology stack from frontend through backend to infrastructure. You must also understand where technology can provide value to the business and have a strong passion for the web, mobile and platform technology landscape.Responsibilities* Designing and building mobile applications for Apples iOS platform. * Collaborating with the design team to define app features. * Ensuring quality and performance of the application to specifications. * Identifying potential problems and resolving application bottlenecks. * Fixing application bugs before the final release. * Publishing application on App Store. * Maintaining the code and atomization of the application. * Designing and implementing application updates.Experience, Qualifications and Competencies* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other technical field of study or equivalent practical experience * Proven experience as an app developer. * Proficient in Objective-C, Swift, and Cocoa Touch. * Extensive experience with iOS Frameworks such as Core Data and Core Animation. * Knowledge of iOS back-end services. * Knowledge of Apples design principles and application interface guidelines. * Proficient in code versioning tools including Mercurial, Git, and SVN. * Knowledge of C-based libraries. * Experience with continuous integration. * Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning * Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services* Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards* Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools* Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications* Knack for benchmarking and optimization
