Working across the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia, GMG has introduced more than 120 brands into its marketsAbout the roleThe role holder is the primary point of contact for the business and servers as the strategic interface for IT with the business unit for the purpose of business technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management, and relationship management.Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead all IT Initiatives across the Consumer Retail business.
  • Lead a team who provides technical and operational support to ensure the systems operate effectively and reliably.
  • Align IT with business/ corporate priorities, strategies, and operation models.
  • Recommends long-term improvements and changes to the organizations IT systems to support future business direction and growth.
  • Manage the ongoing operation and capital expenses including budgeting.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers and provide project & subject matter expert support in your area of expertise.
  • Responsible for the project management and delivery of IT Business Strategy.
  • Advice individual departments on process, automation, and industry best practices
People- Management:
  • Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective implementation of the GMGs performance management process.
  • Develops talent within the team by providing guidance, mentoring, and coaching to achieve the defined goals.
  • Drives a culture of feedback and coaching in the Department by providing feedback on an ongoing basis, identifying development needs, and coaching the employees on the areas of improvement.
Educational Qualifications and Certifications
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a relevant field
  • Masters degree in Business Administration/ Information Systems / E-commerce is preferred.
  • Relevant certification in Advanced Program/Project Management Professional (PMP/Prince 2)
Experience
  • 12 years of relevant experience with at least.
  • Understanding the Retail Supermarket model in the Middle East region is a must.
  • Implementation role of technology in the sector
  • IT Contract Costing
  • IT and business exposure to various technical environments
