Middle East RegionThe position is based in Carrier Middle East Head Office in Dubai, UAE. Reporting to the Commercial HVAC Leader. This role will be responsible for providing direction, planning and oversight of EHS policies and programs to ensure compliance with applicable local laws and regulations and Corporate standards across the Middle East Commercial HVAC entities. This role will span the manufacturing network, field service & sales organization, research & development, and business support functions. Our functional purpose is to support Carrier?s mission by creating business value through breakthrough and sustainable EHS solutions to protect our People, our Stakeholders, and our Environment.Job/Function Responsibilities:* Coordinate EHS communication and foster a collaborative relationship with our Joint Venture Partners. * Serve as the primary EHS representative for activities within the UAE. * Provide leadership in and manage all aspects of occupational health, safety, and environment for Middle East manufacturing/services/projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, and company requirements. * Develop & implement EHS plans for Middle East that are aligned with the Commercial HVAC business unit strategic direction. * Collaborate with Middle East senior management and other functions to achieve optimal EHS performance. * Develop strategies and provide guidance to operational management on the prevention of workplace incidents and illnesses. * Oversee EHS investigations into workplace incidents to uncover root causes, identify immediate and preventative actions and capture ?lessons learned?. * Lead effective implementation of the EHS management system and ongoing continuous improvement of all EHS programs. * Provide EHS consultation and support related to the company?s commitment to world-class Environment Social Governance (ESG)/sustainability performance. * Identify EHS resource needs during project proposal phase, based on project role, scale, hazard profile and technical complexity. * Manage prequalification, deployment, and safety performance of subcontractors. * Actively promote embedding EHS in ?what we do? and that EHS is a shared responsibility rooted in the right EHS culture. * Build key external stakeholder relationships including industry associations, authorities and regulatory bodies on regional EHS matters. * Serve as subject matter expert on communications with external authorities and other key stakeholders on EHS matters relating to Commercial HVAC Middle East EHS business activities. * Lead EHS training & development programs. * Conduct EH&S inspections, audits and risk assessments at customer sites, company premises (workshops, warehouses, offices) to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and company EH&S Operating System. * Develop & implement professional development and succession plans for the Middle East Commercial HVAC EHS team. * Ensure that correct and timely reporting of EHS data in company (Enablon) EHS reporting system. * Provide the leadership guidance necessary to achieve integration of EH&S considerations into all aspects of the business. Stimulate a culture of hazard awareness and prevention that drives to zero incidents. * Prepare annual EH&S training plan based on EH&S Risk Assessment and conduct trainings as per the plan. Ensure all new employees undergo EHS Orientation prior to starting the job. * Establish and implement contractor EHS qualifying, on-boarding, Training program and audit program. * Ensure business continuity by proactively identifying and managing EH&S aspects, impacts, hazards and risk. Ensure the mitigation of EH&S aspects, impacts, hazards and risk in all business decisions through management of change. * Guide entities in implementation of ISO14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and certification. * Conduct annual EHS program evaluations and compliance audits.Experience & Education:* Bachelors Degree in EHS, Engineering or relevant scientific/technical area.* International accredited Certification in EH&S such as NEBOSH or equivalent is preferred.* 7 years of experience in managing/leading EH&S in the field and manufacturing plants.* Experience with global corporations and a multicultural working environmentSkills:* Regulatory knowledge including safety, environmental and other regulatory standards applicable to building services industries and construction.* Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate, and lead teams, drive change and interact cross functionally.* Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.* Languages: fluency in English required.*Carrier is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
