JOB SUMMARYThe Senior Manager - Hospitality is responsible for all hospitality architectural design activities in the UAE design center. He is responsible to develop and promote the Hospitality design business, lead delivery, enforce policies and procedures, ensure quality and manage cost, capacity and utilization. The jobholder is responsible to attract, develop and standardize hospitality architectural design capabilities in the UAE design center in coordination with other offices within the K&A network. He shall stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in hospitality architectural design and represent the firm in the architecture community and international forums.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AREAS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE ROLE? Lead and manage the Hospitality Section team towards achieving the Section s targets included in the Architecture (UAE) Department business plan? Set target budgets for hospitality architectural design projects proposals in coordination with Geography Managers? Provide input on the Hospitality Section capacity and capability to deliver projects, outsourcing needs, expert knowledge and man-hour estimates during the proposal development stage? Define design delivery model (location of design execution, outsourcing approach etc.) for projects to be delivered by the Hospitality Section during the proposal development stage? Share hospitality architectural design expert knowledge and support in identifying and assessing projects risks during proposal development stage? Identify, engage and negotiate with specialty suppliers required for hospitality architectural design projects during the proposal development stage? Review and validate design delivery cost estimates for proposals led by the Hospitality Section? Review technical and commercial (excluding margins) proposal submissions, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to K&A quality standards? Assign Hospitality Section architects to project teams, as required by project scope? Assign and manage Hospitality Section architects in Geographies, in coordination with Geography Managers? Oversee progress of Section projects through all design stages (schematic design, draft final design, tender and construction documents etc.)? Guide the design content and provide subject matter advice to design teams on design topics related to Hospitality? Escalate internal design coordination issues with non-Architectural Design Sectors / Departments for support and resolution? Review design deliverables prepared by the Hospitality Section architects, and ensure implementation of quality control measures? Lead value engineering activities for design deliverables prepared in the Hospitality Section in the UAE design center? Organize and arrange periodic meetings with the Hospitality Sections in other design centers to coordinate and align on various topics, such as knowledge sharing, standardization, resource optimization etc.?
