Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:Develops difficult and complex Hydraulic models, Designs, Estimates, and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge, that they meet company and industry standards and codes. The Designer at this level is capable of applying the more advanced DESIGN & CAD techniques.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:The Engineer will be responsible in providing discipline relevant calculations, drawings, specifications and other associated documents and ensure they are technically correct, complete and clearly presented. Function as a Senior Water/Irrigation Engineer supporting various projects in the region.?Work ranges from supporting master plans, infrastructure design, Water/Irrigation design, drafting proposals,?

  • Manage the design schedule
  • Surge analysis
  • Develop necessary Design models
  • Evaluate HAZOP analysis as applicable to scope of work
  • Write Design Reports
  • Manage progress of drawings and specification
  • Provide input and support to Quantity estimates
  • Monitor and report design changes
  • Learn and Practice Parsons Quality and Safety procedures and processes
  • Review and comment on mechanical and infrastructure systems
  • Review and comment on third party budgetary cost estimates for housing units
  • Coordinate and collect information from relevant Agencies, third party consultants and contractors to prepare weekly and monthly reports
  • Participate in detailed review of budget and schedule
  • Support project team in preparation of proposals
  • Actively contribute in Value Engineering exercises
  • Liaise with All relevant agencies and Client team to obtain necessary approvals.
  • Meets layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts of systems as required.
  • Ensures compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Reviews supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required.
  • Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others. Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Assists in training lower-level Designers in various procedures.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

  • Supervision Given - Lower-level Designers (technical guidance only)
