JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee preparation of design documents and drawings for new solar PV projects including: Power output simulations, Solar CAD layouts, CAD mechanical and installation details (Mounting Structure, Inverter mounting, trays, etc.), CAD wiring diagrams, interconnection details and applying field mark-ups of project as-built drawings, Single Line DiagramsPreparation of preliminary design packages supporting proposal stagesOversee electrical equipment drawings, MEP equipment drawings, LV/MV equipment and civil drawingsOptimise the electrical drawings and prepare for submission with authorities/clientsReview and ensure the prepared design blueprints are as per the checklist issued internally or by clientApply engineering standards such as IEC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSIApply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, load flow and short circuit studiesPreparation of DC, Battery, solar panel & cable sizing calculation and single line diagramsPreparation of termination and cable schedulesAdapt and make product changes with rapidly changing solar landscapeGenerate preliminary layouts on Helioscope, PV Case, Helios 3D or other similar softwareConfident in performing yield assessments using simulation software as PVSYSTKeeping up with the procurement team to share the BoMs and aligning the project design accordinglyPrepare bill of quantities for specific projects, for the electrical infrastructuresEnsure that the drawings are done in accordance with the company approved local and international standards, symbols and methodologyParticipate in meetings with clients, subcontractors and clarify the technical issues to achieve deadlineCo-ordinate with manufacturers for detailed drawingsSupervise and coordinate work activities of Design Engineer/s and Draftsmen engaged in drafting and designingCommunicate and coordinate project activities with Project Engineer, customer representatives, and others as neededJOB REQUIREMENTS:Must possess a Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputed institutionMust have minimum a demonstrated 5-8 years of work experience in the solar design field and testing and commissioning with at least 3-4 years? of experience in the UAE in supervisory roleMust have hands-on design exposure (& certification) using at least one or multiple solar PV software e.g. PVSyst, Helioscope, Sketch upKnowledge of using AutoCAD is a mustKnowledge of using ETAP setting calculation is an added advantageKnowledge of using cable sizing calculationFull understanding of solar technologies and productsKnowledge of solar product code certifications and testing required by authoritiesResults oriented individual with ability to work on multiple projects
