  • Responsible for the effective implementation of overall risk strategy for the business.
  • Review and assess existing relevant policies, regulations and measures to assess current status of compliance.
  • Update and manage a risk and governance framework to ensure a robust, controlled environment and create KRI Matrices alongside different stakeholders.
  • Preparing and maintaining the risk registers for departments and the Company covering the KRIs, Significant risks, risk ratings at inherent and residual level etc.
  • Conduct regular audits and self-risk assessments for the business.
  • Identifying and implementing appropriate controls and risk mitigants across the business.
  • Act as a second line of defense to monitor, identify, measure and report all risk related matters.
  • Advise and guide the business on overall risk management with pertinent focus on operational risk.
  • Develop the BCP/DR risk assessments and lead the effort to evaluate potential threats to business viability and associated risks.
  • Provide incident management oversight and support the business owners in responding to investigations, resolve incident reports and escalations.
  • Ensure that business models and supporting systems continually mitigate risk to maintain the protection and integrity of data and resources.
  • The Risk Officer will also be responsible for reporting IRAP/ICAAP and risk oversight reporting to the regulation in consultation with the Compliance Officer.
  • Work with stakeholders including senior management and internal audit to ensure regulatory compliance with the risk management of the firm.
  • Promoting a risk and control awareness culture through risk awareness program and sharing of past learnings.
    • Responsibilities
  • At least a Bachelors degree with 10+ years of experience in Banking/Insurance/Financial Services or a similar capacity.
  • Recognised Person in the DFSA, FRSA, CBB or other regulated jurisdiction.
  • Must be based in the United Arab Emirates.
  • Must have experience working for an exchange, broker dealer or bank.
  • Strong practical knowledge of risk frameworks and operational risk reporting experience, FRM is a plusInterest in Cryptocurrencies, Blockchain and trading or finance/banking/payments industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and cope well under pressure knowing that a high-stakes decision needs to be made. Ability to work collaboratively and manage downwards as well as upwards.
  • Ability to understand the firms strategic vision and implement that collaboratively across functions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and discover answers quickly and effectively.
  • Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple mandates.
