Job Description

Head of QA/QC ? Renewable Energy (Wind & Solar)Location: GCCIndustry: Renewable Energy (Wind & Solar)Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Head of QA/QC to lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control efforts for large-scale Wind & Solar projects (500MW+) in the GCC region. This role is responsible for ensuring that all project components, materials, and construction processes meet international quality standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual specifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in EPC projects, quality audits, vendor management, and compliance with ISO and IEC standards within the renewable energy sector.Key Responsibilities:1. Quality Management & Compliance

  • Develop and implement a Project Quality Plan (PQP) ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, IEC standards, and GCC regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and enforce QA/QC procedures across all phases of the project, from design to commissioning.
  • Ensure all materials, components, and construction activities meet industry best practices.
2. Inspection & Testing
  • Oversee inspection, testing, and verification of materials and equipment to ensure adherence to technical specifications.
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning quality checks.
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors, certification agencies, and project consultants for quality verification.
3. Vendor & Contractor Quality Oversight
  • Establish vendor and subcontractor qualification criteria and conduct quality audits.
  • Ensure that EPC contractors, OEMs, and suppliers meet project-specific quality requirements.
  • Implement Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) procedures and corrective action plans.
4. QA/QC Audits & Documentation
  • Conduct internal and external audits to assess compliance with project specifications.
  • Maintain all QA/QC documentation, including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Reports, and Audit Findings.
  • Ensure project quality records are properly documented and maintained for handover.
5. Continuous Improvement & Training
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance project execution.
  • Provide training programs to project teams on QA/QC procedures and industry best practices.
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the project.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related field.
  • Experience:15+ years of experience in QA/QC for Renewable Energy (Wind & Solar) EPC projects.
  • Proven track record in leading quality management for 500MW+ utility-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001, IEC 61400 (Wind), IEC 61215 & 61730 (Solar), and GCC regulatory standards.
  • Skills:Expertise in quality management, audits, inspection processes, and non-conformance management.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in QA/QC software tools and digital quality tracking systems.
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and international vendors.
