We make UAE a safer place by providing secure electronic payment solutions, cyber security systems and communications as well as security systems for Dubai International Airport and air traffic management and navigation systems for Abu Dhabi?s airport.JOB OBJECTIVEThe HSE Engineer reports to the Regional HSE, Security & Real Estate Manager, and has the following objectives:

  • Support & assist the Regional HSE, Security & Real Estate Manager to develop, implement, co-ordinate, monitor and maintain the regional HSE management system.
  • Support the Bids & Projects team to analyse the HSE requirements and design the HSE framework (resources, budget, training, equipment, documents) for all bids in the region.
  • Assume the position of HSE Manager for civil projects (airport, etc.) in the UAE.
  • Implement all HSE procedures, measures & controls during activities on offices & projects in the region.
  • Ensure all personnel in the region as well as visitors, sub-contractors and any interested party are fully supported with the guidance, training, equipment, documentation, inspections and audit covering all HSE matters.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe roles & responsibilities of the Regional HSE Engineer are to:
  • Define the HSE objectives and program.
  • Analyse legal and other requirements to ensure compliance of Thales premises and projects in the region. Set up and update compliance registers.
  • Analyse risks & impacts and deliver the risk assessment & the environmental assessment.
  • Establish and maintain the regional HSE action plan.
  • Prepare the emergency response plans (procedure, first-aiders, fire wardens, evacuation drills, medical drills, etc.).
  • Define, collect and analyse operational indicators, to assess results and to suggest improvements if necessary.
  • Collect and follow up HSE events (accidents, incidents, etc.). Investigate accidents where necessary and report the findings.
  • Prepare the yearly HSE internal audit program. Perform HSE audits & inspections.
  • Prepare and conduct the yearly HSE management review.
  • Prepare the HSE memos and design the HSE framework (resources, budget, training, equipment, documents) for all bids in the region.
  • Support Procurement in selection of sub-contractors & suppliers from a HSE perspective.
  • Support the Management with HSE expertise in case of crisis (pandemic, etc.).
  • Support the HSE Committees in the region with HSE expertise.
  • Coordinate with the regional Real Estate, Facility Management and Security departments.
  • The Regional HSE Engineer will lead by example & will carry out this activity in good coordination/cooperation with all regional entities, departments, teams and interested parties.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 5 years? experience as an HSE Engineer/Manager
  • 3 years? experience in civil projects (rail, airport, etc.)
  • International experience is an added value
  • Multinational Company experience is an added value
QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • HSE / Risk Management Engineering Diploma (Master 2)
  • Nebosh IGC Occupational Health & Safety Certificate
  • Internal/Lead Auditor Certificate
  • English TOEIC 785 B2 Level or equivalent
  • Fluency in Microsoft Pack Office
  • Valid Driving License
  • First Aider Certificate is an added value
