Job Description

Quantity Surveyor | Al Futtaim ConstructionAbout the roleAl Futtaim Construction (AFC) is currently hiring a Quantity Surveyor to be based in our Dubai head office.˙The purpose of the position is to provide support to the Commercial Lead and the Project Lead on all the commercial and contractual matters on our various projects.˙KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES˙Day to Day Operations

  • Provide support to Sr. Q.S during the procurement of subcontract package and during preparation of subcontract agreements.
  • All Quantity Surveying duties including measurement, valuation and agreement of work sections.
  • Providing support to the Sr. Q.S. in preparation of interim and final applications for payments and internal valuations.
  • Liaise with Design and Operations teams to identify changes/variations in a timely manner with appropriate notices issued to the Engineer.
  • Take-offs, measurements and preparation of Bill of Quantity for Variations.
  • Contract administration of allocated subcontract packages from inception to final account including subcontractor liability, payment certificate and final account.
  • Review, negotiation and agreement of subcontractors? submitted variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Writing contractual and commercial correspondences and replying to the subcontractor?s, Employer?s, and Engineer?s contractual and commercial.
  • Assisting Sr. Q.S. in preparation of Monthly Cost Report, PRM?s, End Of Life Forecasts and other internal commercial reports.
  • Assisting Sr. Q.S. in preparation of the main contract final account, including pricing.
  • Ensure that line manager is fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise, and which could affect the business/project
  • As a member of a project team advising and providing strategic input and commercial expertise to support to the project
  • Identification and implementation of process and /or efficiency improvements
  • Ensure accurate labour records/allocation is prepared and maintained by the operations team, and prepare labour productivity report and labour related variations and claims using this labour records/allocation.˙
˙Safety, Quality & Environment
  • Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety, quality of services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed within AFC
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure all subcontract agreements prepared has AFC standard Health and Safety polices.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of process and practices taking into account, the interests and benefits to Al Futtaim and its employees.
