Job Description

Job Overview:Co-ordinate all project offshore activities with regards to QC, NDT and welding related activities.Liaise with Manager Assurance (PQM), Principal Quality Ops Specialist (CQM), Offshore Operations, Field Engineer, Barge Superintendent, Safety Depa¸ment, PMT, Project Cost Controller, Accounts, Human Resource, Warehouse, Logistics, Traffic, Security, approved sub-contractor agencies, certification, welding engineering, Senior QC/NDT personnel.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure McDermott Project QC Team / approved sub-contractor provides qualified & efficient workforce and suitable equipment for the scope of work on al/ Work barges, Hook-up support vessel and punch list vessels as per project requirement
  • Ensure required QA/QC documents and related inspection tools & equipment are being sent to work barges upon receipt from Project dedicated Lead QC personnel.
  • Keep tracking all QC related material movement / personnel movement during offshore assignment.
  • Preparation of weld consumable requisition jn coordination with welding engineering; maintaining the track record of welding consumables being sent to offshore for various projects.
  • Ensure Service Work Order is available for every offshore assignment while engaging sub-contractor agencies as per the service agreement and maintain the track of invoice details.
  • Ensure afl offshore assigned QC/NDT personnel are having required safety training, visa, travel arrangements, etc for smooth work execution.
  • Providing estimated forecast for QC/NDT activities to PMT on monthly basis as per utilization of sub-contractor personnel.
  • Ensure sub-contractor invoices are as per the usage and appropriate project cost centers are used and cleared in time.
  • Ensure al/ documents including as-built QC documentation on board and final repotts are dispatched to respective PQM/CQM/Certification Supervisor and records are maintained.
  • Follow the directions and guidance of Senior Quality Operations Specialist ? Offshore QC Coordination as required and handle offshore activities and preparation effectively during his absence.
  • Assist in providing offshore QC, NDT input for bid preparation as and when required.
  • Prepare / assess NDT/QC Sub contractor RFQs / TBE as required. Maintain service agreements as applicable.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Engineering Degree / Diploma.
  • Mechanical or Structural or or equivalent.
  • 8+ years experience in QC & NDT aspects of Marine construction.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
  • AWS / CSWIP related qualifications or equivalent professional qualifications.
