We are looking forPurchaser & Logistic Officer for Shipping company in Dubai. Below are the details :-Job Title: Purchaser & Logistic OfficerFunctionally Reports to: Purchasing Manager / Assistant Purchasing Manager Hierarchically Reports to: Engineering Manager JOB OVERVIEW: The incumbent will be responsible to assist the Purchasing Manager to manage all aspects of purchasing to efficiently and cost-effectively support organizational operations in United Arab Emirates. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To handle the logistics of the shipment and support the Superintendents in purchase of urgent material, spares or consumables while the vessels are prepared for the project, afloat or docking repairs 2. To support purchasing department with the vessel requisitions while the vessel is in UAE and middle east region or as instructed 3. Source out new local vendor/suppliers in the UAE region 4. Expediting purchased items with local and overseas vendors 5. Assist in logistic importation of cargo and parcel 6. Coordinate logistics activities with buyers in Singapore, monitor, tracking of shipment and fixing shipping errors 7. Making transportation arrangement for material to be delivered to vessels, especially in UAE or instructed 8. Assist Superintendents on urgent material purchase in UAE 9. Issuing of PO for urgent material purchase and services 10. Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities 11. Ability to use computer and software 12. Update and generate weekly logistic report 13. Develop logistic plans for current operations and logistics contingency plans INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: - With Britoil Office, Britoil vessels and to external ship chandler and vendors.EDUCATION, SKILLS, WORK EXPERIENCE ;-- Diploma in Logistics / Purchasing - Minimum 5 years experience and knowledge in purchasing and logistic function in UAE - Possess a valid UAE driving license - Good negotiation skills - Reliable, meticulous, resourceful and aggressive in sourcing - Resourceful and self-starter with good interpersonal skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
