Public Health Engineer and Firefighting EngineerWe are looking for an ambitious Public Health Engineer to join our team, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.The role will offer the opportunity for you to deliver sustainable and innovative design solutions for building services projectsworking as part of a creative and close knit team. You will be focussing on projects across a variety of sectors.You will be playing a key role in the team, leading and driving projects in the public health discipline whilst working collaboratively with other specialisms including sustainability, fire engineering, lighting and more.Type of contractPermanentGradeEngineerArea of ExpertiseBuilding EnvironmentRegionMiddle East, India and AsiaOffice / Project LocationDubaiRef No5833Be ChallengedWith us, your preconceptions will be tested, your resilience built, and your career enriched.As a key part of the design team you will work closely with clients, architects and other Buro Happold Engineers across a variety of interesting and challenging projects.This will be a varied and interesting role but responsibilities will broadly include:

  • Undertaking detailed public health engineering design, preparing technical schedules and delivering exceptional designs to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan and manage design work and work closely with our team of Technicians
  • Under guidance of senior staff, you may represent Buro Happold at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with other members of the project team.
  • Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client?s and Buro Happold?s best interests and that Buro Happold policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice and other considerations
  • Mentoring and assisting Graduate Engineers and passing on your expertise
  • Develop and mentor more junior public health engineers and technicians
  • Undertake engineering design for fire protection services including preparation offirefightinglayouts, schematics and details
  • Prepare technicalpublic health and firefightingschedules and specifications
  • Ensure that appropriate service/design decisions are met
  • Produce sustainable design like grey water recycling, etc.
  • Be fully conversant with Middle East Codes and Regulations
Be RespectedWe?ll help you meet your goals, respecting your ideas and fostering your creativity, collaboration and innovation.As an experienced Senior Engineer with a specialism within Public Health design, it is expected that you will be able to demonstrate:
  • Solid experience of public health design engineering in a consultancy environment.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Membership of professional institution and a commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Ability to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organisation, combined with ability to work independently.
  • Experience of designing in Revit.
  • Registration with an engineering institution is desirable but not compulsory
  • 10 years experience with at least half in the middle east
  • Ability to work with overseas teams
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work with a number of stakeholders both internal and external to Buro Happold.
