The Main Job Activities :- Experience in different relays make (ALSTOM, ABB, SIEMENS, SCHNEIDER) commissioning, relay rehabilitation and wiring diagram modification. - Testing of protection relays (component and final setting test). - Understanding of physical parameters/characteristics of the components of the network lines, transformers, buses, capacitor banks, reactors, feeders, generators, etc- Capable of testing individual components and overall integrated systems (BCPUs). - Functional and end to end testing on relay protection including DUTT, PUTT, POTT, DTT, DCB & DCUB schemes. - Earthing and phasing arrangements, behavior of VT, CT, NER, NCT Protection modification in live substation and updating schematic drawings accordingly. - Replace aging or outdated protection equipment to include the relays, communication interface, associated dc circuits.- Preparation of AC and DC schematics.- Select and size various IEDs (including BCPUs).- Using testing equipment (e.g. OMICRON)- Attending site services for installation supervision, commissioning and site acceptance test Preferred Competencies :- Approved competent Protection & Control Engineer in AADC, ADDC, TRANSCO, and FEWA distribution utilities.- Familiar with various SCMS and protection relay protocols.
