Project Manager of Project Development

Job Description

The Project Manager of Project Development is responsible for leading the development of a complex renewable energy project in Oman. This position will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team from multiple organizations involved in all stages of project development, from conception through start of construction, and is responsible for coordinating regular team collaboration. This position reports to the development consortium s management committee.RESPONSIBILITIES? Develop strategic plan and budget needs for the project opportunities in conjunction with the management committee, and continuously drive the completion of strategic milestones that will materially advance the project through the various stages of project development.? Develop, advance, and manage development of the project including offtake, permitting, land, community relations, financing, stakeholder management and related budget.? Monitor enabling legislation or market dynamics, site control documents, permitting requirements, surveys, offtake agreements and financial model/budget assumptions? Identify and communicate any project risks and develop mitigation strategies for all stakeholders? Ensure that timelines and budgets are effectively managed.? Communicate on a regular basis in meetings or with presentations to management committee and other team members,? Aggressively pursue, quantify, drive, and close the project? Work closely with different internal teams to negotiate contract terms (commercial, operations, execution, finance, engineering, procurement and legal);? Actively monitor and manage the progress of the project via periodic meetings to assess the development status, issue resolution, budget and schedule.? Assist with financial models, power point presentations (internal and external audiences), internal reporting, weekly team meetings and relevant regulatory research as needed;? Foster and maintain key business and government relationships .? Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, and business ethics codes;? Secure permits as may be required, and manage community relations.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS? BS/BA/BEng with minimum of 10 15 years of experience in large scale renewable energy projects development? Solar thermal IPP development experience.? Preferably, oil and gas development experience? Demonstrated track record of consistently advancing projects through various stages of development to start of construction.? Strong fluency in project finance, contracts, permitting, and construction/ EPC issues? Excellent written and verbal communication skills? Superior understanding of potential customer and market dynamics and future requirements/ trends? Willingness to travel as required and work with a global team of professionals? Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and must be a strong team player with experience working in teams while also being a self-driver to optimize growth in key markets.? High degree of professionalism and conduct at all times? Excellent organizational skills? Able to multi-task, set priorities, meet deadlines, manage schedules and actively maintain budgets.? Confidence and ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization?
