Project Controls and Operations Manager

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Project Control and Operation Lead for our Dubai, United Arab Emirates office.What will I be doing

• Oversee and implement project operations/controls within the engineering teams to ensure consistency of approach and help manage and minimize exposure to commercial risk
• Support the management of various aspects of projects and programs, including planning, communication, risk assessment, quality management, change management, stakeholders, and resources to ensure compliance with set standards, procedures, and guidelines. Ensure the KPIs are well reflected to the reporting systems as per BH governance
• Support and challenge project execution plans and resources required to manage projects
• Support the project performance monitoring and help with problem projects
• Responsible for the management, development, and mentoring of the project office/coordinators team
• Facilitate and influence discussions on balancing resources and revenue and support the Leadership with the provision of commercial insight
• Lead project portfolio reviews with PDs and PPs (project status, contract management including Vos/Extensions/Change control, Financial performance review, plans review, invoicing and cash, contingency, risks & opsetc.)
• Monitor and maintain Risk Register up to date on all Large projects, and report to the leadership accordingly
• Lead Discipline Resourcing calls
• Responsible for the controls within the Project Operations team that provide the Leadership with an accurate overview of its resource capacity.

• Develop the best way in which projects are to be structured, directed, and managed including the optimal organization structure, authority and decision-making roles
• Ability to leverage a close relationship with senior stakeholders within the immediate engineering teams and wider business services teams
• Responsible for the management, development, and mentoring of a results-focused and efficient Project Operations team
• Support ensuring alignment to Corporate Governance as well as external requirements
• To share knowledge and best practice within these communities and authoritatively represent the Project Operations team
• Ability to leverage the close relationships you hold with senior stakeholders within the immediate engineering teams and wider business support teams.
• Lead transversal projects: support implementation of VANTAGE point, ISO certification process, Workshare improvement, suppliers selection and performance processetc.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve business performance
• Support the growth and improvement of processes and procedures

• A degree or similar qualification in a relevant field (Business Management, Finance, Project Management, Engineering) completed with commensurate experience
• Experience in managing the PMO function and/or significant projects in the AEC industry
• Strong financial analysis skills including budgeting and forecasting
• Strong knowledge of ERPs, and successful experience implementation of Project Management systems.
• Experience in mentoring and managing successful teams
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification will be an addition

• A highly organized, creative, and conscientious individual, capable of managing multiple key stakeholder relationships
• Highly numerate, able to manipulate large sets of data and provide analysis that can be easily understood
• Commercially focused, able to understand project challenges and help manage and mitigate exposure to risks
• Excellent written, visualization, and verbal communication skills, and can easily simplify complex concepts into compelling narratives to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Able to drive training and support management change
• A positive, resilient attitude with a willingness to undertake volume work processes
