As anOil & Petrochemical Chemist, you will perform analysis using internationally recognised methods, specifically IP and ASTM methodologies, and local documented procedures in accordance with the ISO 17025 UKAS accredited quality system. Routine sampling of shore tanks at refineries and terminals for witnessing of analysis will also be required. Responsibilities will include: * Conducting analysis and reporting as instructed by Laboratory Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner and in line with the requirements. * Maintain organised and auditable systems of work to allow traceability and ensure continued compliance with UKAS requirements. * Ensure that equipment is efficiently and effectively used, maintained, and calibrated. * Resolution of client enquiries in a timely and effective manner to maintain our high levels of service delivery. * To perform overtime as and when required as directed by the Laboratory Supervisor/Manager. This will include regular weekend working and unsociable hours. We offer localized expertise in a range of technologically advanced inspection and sampling services. * Attention to detail ? able to follow precise details * Previous experience of working in a testing laboratory, meeting exacting process and client demands. * Good communication skills ? both verbal and written * Computer Literate * Flexible and able to work around workload demands including unsociable hours * A Level / Degree in a Scientific / Chemistry discipline * Experience of Oil and Petrochemicals industry related analysis encompassing a broad spectrum of methods and analysis would be a distinct advantage. * Possess and maintain knowledge of chemistry, international analytical standards, operational procedures, analytical equipment, and methods such as IP, ASTM and EN/ISO. * Full UK Driving Licence Please be aware that all roles within Bureau Veritas UK&I may require a DBS, Credit or Security Clearance Check.
